Since hitting my 50s, my weight has crept up no matter what I've tried. So I've decided to give intermittent fasting (IF) a go, in the form of the 5:2 diet. So far, so good - the pounds are dropping off.
After jogging (or, occasionally, slogging) through all nine weeks of the Couch to 5k, I've finally completed the programme! From struggling to run for one minute at a time, I can now keep going for half an hour.
Three weeks ago I went out running for the first time in my life. This may not seem like a big achievement but given that I've done very little in the way of aerobic exercise for a long time, it felt like a breakthrough.
